GRAPHIC DESIGNER
I am a Freelance Graphic Designer based in Johannesburg with wide-ranging experience in signage, advertising and editorial work.
Specializing in print and digital design with other skills such as photography, image editing and retouching, motion graphics, signwriting and art, audio/music and video editing.
A BRIEF HISTORY
I have been in the design and art-related industry for over 20 years. I was raised by Duncan Shoesmith, the legendary KZN signwriter and artist. With this upbringing, I grew up with a keen interest in design.
In recent years, I worked for Caxton Magazines in Johannesburg. I was Senior Designer at SA Garden and Home (I handled the layout and design direction for over two years when the Art Director left). Following this, I was hired as Acting Art Director at Essentials magazine.
Prior to this I have worked in the signage and advertising industry for notable clients such as DStv/Multichoice, Viacom and Naspers to name a few.
SOFTWARE I USE
I’m comfortable on Mac and PC and love working in most of the Adobe Suite. I also use software like Adobe Lightroom, Adobe XD, Blender 3D, Cakewalk & Reason for creating music compositions and for sound design. To upskill, I designed this site myself using WordPress and Elementor.
